Jersey Giant

The Jersey Giant is the heavyweight hero of the chicken world. Bred in the U.S. to replace turkeys as a meat bird, these massive chickens also lay a solid number of large brown eggs and have a calm, friendly nature that makes them easy to raise.

Age Range: Available from 6 weeks to 20 weeks old

Egg Production: Begins around 22–26 weeks, with 150–200 large brown eggs/year

Egg Color: Light to dark brown

Temperament: Calm, gentle, and easygoing
